Initiate by latest discussion about visual research, I am wonder and try to re-think about some documentary movie that I’ve made. Several titles are closest to traditional ritual and environment campaign, but none contains in-depth and concern to one specific sub topic. Most of them were superficial and less focused on single sub-topic. Some said, it was similar to cultural profile video then documentary movie. Lets look in defining the documentary, what is documentary? One simple common answer is; not a movie, at least not movie like Titanic. Mata saya hampir tidak berkedip saat mulai menonton film arahan Martin Scorsese, yang baru saja memenangkan lima penghargaan Oscar (academy award) tahun 2012. Intro yang begitu menawan, gambar one shot yang tak putus hampir dua menit membawa pandangan begitu menikmati film yang bersetting kota Paris tempo dulu. Film yang mengisahkan petualangan Hugo (diperankan oleh Asa Butterfield) seorang anak yatim piatu yang tinggal di stasiun kereta setelah ayahnya yang seorang tukang jam meninggal dunia. Hugo kemudian ikut dengan pamannya yang bertuga sebagai pemelihara jam di stasiun kereta. Hugo yang tidak terurus oleh pamannya sering mencuri roti untuk mengisi perutnya yang kosong. Untuk selalu bisa merasakan keberadaan ayahnya, Hugo melanjutkan memperbaiki robot yang diperoleh ayahnya di museum tempat kerja ayahnya.Namun, sayangnya Hugo tidak memiliki kunci untuk menghidupkan robot tersebut. Sekian banyak ide yang tertuang dalam bentuk cerita, nampaknya tidak cukup untuk me ulai sebuah produksi film. Genre apapun yang terlintas dibenak begitu sulit untuk di eksekusi. Kemauan mendekati hal hal yang diluar ide memang tidak semudah ketika menuangkannya dalam sebuah tulisan naskah atau mengarang dialog. Membangun tim dalam arti yang sebenarnya dengan jumlah besar atau merekayasa pikiran untuk menjadi multitasking personal rasa rasanya mudah saja, yah gak salah kalau saya berpendapat buat film itu keren, pasti ada saja yang tertarik. Dalam sejarahnya gambar bergerak, yang merupakan turunan langsung dari hasil karya gambar diam atau foto, pertama kali diproduksi oleh dua orang kakak beradik dari keluarga Lumiere (Pengusaha media rekam foto pada saat itu) dan kemudian dipertontonkan dengan format tontonan opera pada saat itu.
